Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro: Early benchmark listing indicates strong performance jump from Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Qualcomm will unveil its next-gen flagship Snapdragon 8-series chipsets next month, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro billed to sit at the very top of the pile. The upcoming chipset now seems to have made a trip over to AnTuTu for an early look at its performance chops. 

As shared by the typically reliable Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro appears to deliver a significant performance uplift on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5's already stellar numbers. As shown, the next-gen chipset earns an overall score of 4,835,412 on the benchmark, about a 15% upgrade over the highest-scoring Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 device on AnTuTu's charts—the iQOO 15 Ultra.  

Overall scores don't tell the entire story, however. The leaked listing shows the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro with a 1,368,930 CPU score. The iQOO 15 Ultra, AnTuTu's #1 Android device, scores 1,122,249 in comparison. Those numbers indicate about a 22% bump in CPU performance across the two generations.

On the GPU side, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro scores 1,854,826—interestingly a 21% uplift when placed next to the iQOO 15 Ultra and its 1,529,132 GPU score.

Seeing as the iQOO 15 Ultra isn't representative of the average Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 device, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro may offer a slightly more impressive performance upgrade on its predecessor than this leak implies, although it's also unknown under what conditions the chipset was tested. Compared to a device like the Honor Magic 8 Pro (buy on Amazon US curr. $1,150), for example, the upcoming chipset's benchmark numbers on display here are over 25% higher.

It's also important to point out that this benchmark listing isn't verified—it's currently not uploaded to AnTuTu's database, as has been highlighted by the company's official Weibo account.
