High-end Xiaomi phone launches with Snapdragon 8 Elite, 165Hz display and Bose-tuned speakers

The Xiaomi Redmi K90 series includes high-end smartphones such as the Redmi K90 Pro Max and Redmi K90 Max (curr. $475.95 on TradingShenzhen). Now the company has introduced a new model in the lineup: the Redmi K90 Ultra.
Specifications of the Redmi K90 Ultra
The smartphone features a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2,772 x 1,280 pixels. It supports up to a 165Hz refresh rate and offers 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The display also supports DC dimming.
The phone uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. The Redmi K90 Ultra offers a built-in active cooling system, featuring an 18.1mm fan that is said to operate at around 32dB. It also has a D2 dedicated graphics chip, which the company claims improves gaming performance.
The Xiaomi Redmi K90 Ultra uses a 50MP 1/1.55" main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide lens. It has a 20MP front-facing camera. Notably, the smartphone features an 8,550mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging. However, it does not support wireless charging.
The device has symmetrical dual stereo speakers tuned by Bose. In terms of software, the phone ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. It comes in three colorways: Space Silver, Shadow Black, and Sky Blue. The device features IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

The Xiaomi Redmi K90 Ultra is offered in four memory configurations:
- 12GB/256GB: CNY 2,999 (~$441)
- 16GB/256GB: CNY 3,199 (~$470)
- 12GB/512GB: CNY 3,499 (~$515)
- 16GB/512GB: CNY 3,699 (~$544)
The company has not yet revealed whether the device will launch in global markets or remain exclusive to China.
