Xiaomi Redmi K90 Max surpasses flagship smartphones in early benchmarks

Xiaomi is days away from refreshing its Redmi mobile division with new devices. For instance, the company recently confirmed that the Redmi K Pad 2 will be arriving on April 21 in China. Moreover, it revealed almost simultaneously that this launch event would be joined by the Redmi K90 Max.
Now, the latter has begun surfacing on Geekbench ahead of its official release. For reference, Xiaomi has boasted on Chinese social media about the strength of the Redmi K90 Max's Dimensity 9500 and D2 discrete graphics chips. According to Geekbench, these chips help the Redmi K90 Max outscore all the Dimensity 9500-backed smartphones we have reviewed so far, including the Oppo Find X9 Pro.
Meanwhile, CPU performance is on par with what we have come to expect from the Dimensity 9500 and its octa-core chipset. Hence, the Redmi K90 Max trades blows with modern flagships like the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the OnePlus 15 (curr. $899 on Amazon). Geekbench indicates that Xiaomi plans to offer the Redmi K90 Max with up to 16 GB of RAM too.
