Lenovo details new Legion gaming phone ahead of its imminent launch

Lenovo is set to launch a couple of new devices soon, which include the Legion Y70 2026. It's the first Legion-branded gaming phone from the company since the model from 2022, and so far, the brand has revealed a good number of its features.
The launch is set for May 19, 2026, in China, and it's possible that Lenovo will launch the gaming phone in the global market to compete with the likes of the RedMagic 11 Air. Ahead of the Chinese launch, the brand has now offered another detailed look at the smartphone, which offers more details of its core specs.
One of the major highlights of the Legion Y70 2026 is the Q10 display. It's 6.82-inch screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, "2K" resolution, and a peak brightness rating of 7,000 nits. Lenovo touts that it consumes less power than a similarly configured "1.5K" display, which should help the phone to offer a good battery life.
While the current top-end phones come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Lenovo chose to use the non-Elite Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. This SoC can offer similar performance to the last-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite, and the company says that it's paired with 10W thermal conductivity gel and a large vapor cooling chamber. Such a combination is expected to make the phone handle sustained loads with ease.
Another notable aspect of this Legion gaming phone is the 8,000mAh battery, which promises up to 19.3 hours of gameplay and 57.6 hours of runtime under regular use. There's support for bypass charging and 90W fast charging (160W Anker Prime charger curr. $105.99 on Amazon).
The smartphone has a triple camera setup on the back, featuring a 50MP Sony LYT-710 primary sensor, 8MP ultrawide, and a "2-in-1 anti-overexposure and anti-flicker" sensor. On the front, there's a 32MP selfie camera.
LPDDR5X "Ultra" RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, and IP66+IP68+IP69 ratings are among the other highlights. There's still no official word on the price, but the configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is expected to cost CNY 3,999, about $588.
