Lenovo highlights display edge of new Legion gaming phone ahead of launch

Lenovo will soon be launching a handful of new Legion products in China, and the refreshed Y70 gaming phone is one of them. This is the company's first Legion-branded phone in years, and as the previous teaser showcased, the design will be quite different than the the last iteration, which was released in 2022.

With a new teaser, the company has revealed that the upcoming Legion gaming phone will sport a QHD "2K" display. Lenovo touts that this panel will be backed by AI for energy optimizations.

The company claims that these optimizations make the display of the upcoming Legion gaming phone operate with lower power consumption than competing devices' "1.5K" display. This should also mean better battery life than competitors.

It's not really clear which smartphone Lenovo is referring to here, but it's worth noting that the RedMagic 11 Pro has a "1.5K" screen. Nothing more has been revealed in the new teaser, and it's unclear whether the device will feature an IPS panel or an AMOLED one.

For those who missed it, in the last teaser video, Lenovo confirmed that there will be two color options available. Both feature a prominent Legion branding. This clip has also confirmed that the upcoming Y70 gaming phone will sport a triple camera setup, with a camera island that looks similar to the Motorola Edge 70 (available on Amazon).

In the previous teaser, the company confirmed that the gaming phone will sport a speaker setup with Dolby Atmos. Lenovo is expected to share more about the Legion Y70 smartphone soon.
