Lenovo reveals new Legion gaming phone set to rival RedMagic 11 Pro

Lenovo has officially showcased the refreshed Legion Y70 gaming phone. It's the first update since 2022, which is when the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1-powered iteration of the device came out.

The gaming phone was even spotted in a recent event in China, and as the newly shared photos of the Legion Y70 2026 show, the device looks quite similar to the Motorola Edge 70. Specifically, there's a Moto-styled rectangular camera island on the rear with a triple-camera setup.

While Lenovo didn't share any specs of the gaming phone yet, the newly revealed pictures suggest that the back camera setup will feature a 50 MP primary sensor. The photos have also confirmed that the gaming phone will be available in two colorways: white and black.

Both come with a textured finish, similar to what's available for the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5. Speaking of which, it's still unclear whether the Y70 2026 gaming phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. However, it's worth noting that the last-gen smartphones were powered by a flagship Qualcomm SoC.

Alongside the new photos, Lenovo has also hinted that there will be a focus on AI features on the upcoming gaming phone. It could even come with a dedicated button for AI-powered features, but it's unclear what else the company has in mind to make its device stand as a proper competitor against the RedMagic 11 Pro series (available on Amazon).

As for the launch, the gaming phone is set to be fully unveiled in China at the upcoming event scheduled on May 19, 2026. The company will also be launching two more Legion tablets at the same event, both of which will be larger than the recently released Tab Gen 5.
