Next-gen OnePlus 16 leak reveals key display upgrades

The OnePlus 16 is expected to be released later this year as the company's flagship smartphone. A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station outlines the display specifications for the device.
According to the tipster, the OnePlus 16 may feature a 6.78-inch LTPO screen with a 1.5K resolution. The screen will reportedly be supplied by BOE and use "Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding" technology, resulting in bezels that may measure just 1mm. Notably, the display is also said to support the BT.2020 color gamut.
The display is tipped to feature a minimum refresh rate of 185Hz, with the maximum potentially reaching 240Hz. This would put it ahead of the recently leaked iQoo 16, which is said to feature a 165Hz display. For comparison, the OnePlus 15 (curr. $899 on Amazon) features a 6.78-inch BOE X3 AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and display bezels measuring 1.15mm.
OnePlus 16 expected chipset, battery, and camera details
The OnePlus 16 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, an upcoming Qualcomm flagship chipset reportedly based on a 2nm process. The camera setup may also see an improvement with a new primary sensor and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens. Additionally, the phone may feature a large 9,000mAh battery, up from 7,300mAh on its predecessor.
