New Lenovo Legion gaming phone focuses on endurance with multi-day battery

Lenovo is getting back into the gaming phone market years after it launched the Legion Y70 2022 with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. While the segment now has some solid options from competitors like iQOO, RedMagic, and Redmi, Lenovo touts that its upcoming smartphone will have some standout features.
As recently revealed, the upcoming refreshed Legion Y70 gaming phone will sport an 8,000mAh battery. The company claims that it can offer 2-day battery life, but the brand didn't share whether this claimed runtime rating is for heavy or regular usage.
Regardless, this battery capacity is higher than that of the one powering the RedMagic 11 Pro series. Even the iQOO 15 Ultra features a 7,400mAh battery (16/256GB curr. $852.01 on TradingShenzhen), but the recently released Redmi K90 Max does have an edge over the Lenovo phone with its 8,550mAh battery.
In this teaser, Lenovo touts that the battery will be able to retain at least 80% of its capacity even after 7 years, and claims such as this aren't uncommon in the smartphone market. The company further shares that the upcoming Legion gaming phone is equipped with an "exclusive gaming antenna."
This antenna, per Lenovo, enhances WiFi performance by 26.2% than a regular one, which should allow a more responsive online gaming experience. Most of the other details of the phone, including the SoC and charging speeds, have not been officially disclosed yet. But the good part is that the Chinese launch date, which is set on May 19, 2026, is around the corner.
