Deal | Flying city builder drops below $5 on Steam for the first time

In Airborne Kingdom, players create a flying city and travel through a fairytale steampunk world, rediscovering lost knowledge and reconnecting the scattered kingdoms below. Instead of war and conquest, the focus is on diplomacy, exploration and development. The main challenge is balance: buildings add weight and affect the city’s lift, thrust and tilt. Build too unevenly, and the entire sky metropolis can become unstable. A more detailed look at the gameplay can be found in our earlier article on the game.

PC Gamer awarded Airborne Kingdom 80 out of 100 points, praising its unique setting, impressive presentation and relaxed atmosphere. The high degree of creative freedom and the engaging exploration system were also well received. Criticism mainly focused on the rather shallow diplomacy and limited economy.
The Steam community is also largely positive: 86% of more than 2,300 user reviews are favorable. On Metacritic, Airborne Kingdom has a Metascore of 76 and a slightly lower user score of 7.4. On the Steam Deck, the game is rated as “Playable.”
Airborne Kingdom falls below $5 for the first time
Airborne Kingdom was developed by Canadian indie studio The Wandering Band and released in March 2022. The innovative city builder normally costs $24.99 on Steam, but an 80% discount reduces the price to $4.99 until May 1. According to SteamDB, the game was discounted by 75% once during the 2025 Winter Sale, while discounts of up to 70% are otherwise typical. The current deal therefore marks a new all-time low: Airborne Kingdom is available for less than $5 for the first time.
