New Lenovo Legion phone shows clear performance gap to RedMagic 11 Pro

The Lenovo Legion Y70 is set to launch as a gaming-centric Android smartphone. The company has already revealed several details about the upcoming smartphone. Now, it has also surfaced on Geekbench, revealing its performance capabilities.
According to @ZionsAnvin on X, the model number "Motorola XT2611-1" belongs to the Lenovo Legion Y70. The smartphone has appeared on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and 16GB of RAM.
In the single-core CPU test, the phone scored 2,950 points. In the multi-core CPU test, it scored 9,796 points. For comparison, the RedMagic 11 Pro, a gaming smartphone powered by the higher-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, scored 3,741 points in single-core and 11,634 points in multi-core testing in our review. Based on these results, the Lenovo Legion Y70 sits around 21% lower in single-core and 16% lower in multi-core performance.
Key specifications of the Lenovo Legion Y70
Lenovo has revealed that the Legion Y70 will feature a 6.82-inch display with a "2K" resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone will pack an 8,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging support.
The Legion Y70 will feature a 50MP Sony LYT-710 main sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens. For selfies, it will use a 32MP front camera. The company has revealed that it will feature a large vapor chamber cooling system, LPDDR5X "Ultra" RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage. Lenovo has not revealed the phone's pricing yet. It will launch in China on May 19, with no word yet on global availability.
