RedMagic announces new flagship gaming phone with overclocked SoC

RedMagic has confirmed that it will launch a new gaming phone soon, the 11S Pro. The unveiling is set for May 18, 2026, in China, and the smartphone is expected to head towards the global market soon after the Chinese debut.
While the company didn't confirm anything specific yet, the new teaser has "Rising Stars and Leading Overclocking" as its caption. With this, the company is hinting at an overclocked SoC powering the RedMagic 11S Pro.
That is, an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will power the gaming phone, which the brand calls the Leading Version. Usually, this "Leading Version" variant of the SoC matches the clock speeds of the "for Galaxy" version (512GB Galaxy S26 Ultra with the overclocked SoC curr. $1,299.99 on Amazon).
For reference, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy has its Performance cores clocked at 3.53GHz, the same as the regular version. The Prime cores, on the other hand, are clocked at 4.74GHz instead of 4.43GHz. RedMagic's Leading Version is expected to have a similar configuration.
This overclock on the SoC, especially when combined with the active cooling setup, could make the RedMagic 11S Pro top out benchmark charts. But then again, the company's recent flagship gaming phone has also been caught ignoring thermal limits to achieve high benchmark scores, and it will be interesting to see whether the same aggressive power profiles are set for the upcoming smartphone.
RedMagic will also be launching a new gaming tablet alongside the 11S Pro, and in China, it will be called the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro. This tab is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, sport a compact 9-inch OLED display, and feature an 8,300mAh battery. More official details about these two could emerge before the May 18 event.
