Samsung-exclusive foldable color options and all AUD prices revealed. Galaxy Z Fold 8 camera sensor unveiled

As part of the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22 , Samsung will unveil three new foldables, including—for the first time—a more compact competitor to Apple’s first foldable, expected in September and rumored to be called iPhone Ultra . It’s unfortunate that there isn’t room for a triple-camera setup in the significantly wider but shorter Samsung foldable and even the main camera had to be downsized.
The 200-megapixe sensor in the Galaxy Z Fold7 has been downgraded to a 50-megapixel sensor, as a leaker already revealed a few days ago. New information has now also revealed the replacement sensor for the ISOCELL HP2. The new tip comes from @reptalicant on X, who claims that a 1/1.56-inch ISOCELL GNG will be found in Samsungs compact foldable, a substantially smaller sensor than the 1/1.3-inch ISOCELL HP2. For the ultra-wide-angle camera, a roughly 1/2.5-inch 50-megapixel Sony sensor is expected, assuming the leaker's information in this post is correct.

The leaker also provided an official-looking overview page featuring all the new Samsung foldables, their dollar prices in Australia (apparently originating from Harvey Norman) and all the planned color options. While the three widely available colors were already shown in official renders, the glimpse at the new color option available exclusively from Samsung is new. This time, there appears to be only one online exclusive color per foldable.
According to the leak, the exclusive color for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is called “Violet Green” and is a very dark green tone. For the Galaxy Z Fold 8, it’s called “Pistachio” and looks significantly brighter, while for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, it appears to be named “Mint” and also has a more pastel-like appearance. The image shown below was upscaled using AI; the original is significantly blurrier and can be viewed here on X.
While both Euro-prices and US-dollar prices of Samsungs three new foldables were already leaked in the past, the leak from what looks like an internal Harvey Norman presentation also leaked the starting prices of all new Samsung foldables in Australia. The Galaxy Z Flip8 will be available from $1,949, the Galaxy Z Fold8 from $2,699 and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra from $2,999, indicating a substantial price increase similar to other regions of the world.
