The Galaxy event kicks off in less than 8 hours: Samsung will be unveiling several new products, most of which you already know in detail from recent leaks. Others however have leaked far less frequently. You can tune in when the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the first international competitor to the iPhone Ultra and a very exciting Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 are unveiled for the first time in London. The expected surprise guests are likely to be the first Samsung Android XR glasses, which should become available pretty soon according to fresh new information hours before Galaxy Unpacked.

Samsung fans are well aware of all the new products that will be unveiled at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. The launch will be streamed live via YouTube on July 22, 2026, starting at 2 pm UK Time (3 pm CEST, 09 am ET, 6am PT) and will apparently bring at least one surprise that has barely been mentioned in the last days or weeks. More on that in a moment. But first, here’s the link to the official Samsung livestream:

First Samsung AR Glasses on the Way

At Google I/O, the first “Galaxy Glasses”, or whatever Samsung’s glasses will ultimately be called, were shown publicly for the first time; they had also been subject of leaks on a few occasion in the past. Now they are likely nearing mass production and might be officially announced—or at least demonstrated again—at the Galaxy Unpacked event. According to Roland Quandt of Winfuture, the Android XR-based Samsung Smart Glasses are being developed in collaboration with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster and will feature the three-year-old Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 SoC with 4 cores and a 1.9 GHz clock speed.

Google Gemini replaces integrated displays

Other key specs according to the new leak include 9 hours of battery life and a charging case that can recharge the Samsung glasses up to 7 times. There is no built-in display; instead, two cameras allow Google Gemini to view your surroundings—for example, to capture information from a whiteboard during a meeting in Samsung Notes and edit it later, if desired. In addition to voice communication with the AI chatbot, there will also be touch sensors on the temples. Other use cases reportedly being considered by Samsung include navigation and route planning, as well as live translations and the ability to share camera footage—even in real time.

Availability and pricing still unknown

Gesture control via the Galaxy Watch 9 and similar devices is apparently also in the works. However, it’s still unclear when the Samsung Smart Glasses will actually be available and how much they will cost. According to Roland Quandt, the absence of this information in the leaked documents suggests that they won’t actually hit the market immediately after the launch event—at least not worldwide. Of course, it’s possible that Samsung has saved one or two specific announcements regarding these new wearables for the Galaxy Unpacked event.

The Samsung glasses that were already shown at Google I/O are reportedly nearing completion and will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event.
