Samsung Galaxy Glasses are official: Snapdragon AR1, Gemini cross-app AI, 2 designer frames

Samsung launched its Galaxy Glasses at Unpacked in London today. They have been developed in collaboration with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. The glasses run on the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform, pair exclusively with Samsung Galaxy smartphones, and carry Google Gemini as their primary AI engine.

There is no display. The glasses deliver AI assistance through audio output and a built-in camera that feeds visual info to Gemini. Core functions include real-time translation, live navigation, message summarization, and the ability to capture what the wearer sees — a whiteboard or meeting, for example — and pipe it directly into Samsung Notes. During calls, users can share a live view of what the camera sees, hands-free.

Controls are touch-based on the frame. Gesture control is also available but requires a Galaxy Watch 9. Battery life is rated at up to 9 hours per charge, with the included case providing up to 7 additional full charges. The glasses run on Android XR.

Samsung launched two frame designs. The Gentle Monster edition uses a slim black frame with a straight top line and rounded lower edge. The Warby Parker version goes with a tortoise brown finish and a subtle arched browline. This is the more conventional model for everyday wear.

Availability is limited to select markets. Pricing is unavailable at the time of writing.
