Samsung’s €749 Galaxy Watch Ultra2 pairs a larger 800 mAh battery and Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset with a thinner titanium design and expanded trail-running tools. Developed with Mares, its dive-tracking features add real-time depth and temperature data, though full dive computer functionality requires a separate app.

Samsung unveils the Galaxy Watch Ultra2, its second-generation rugged smartwatch. The watch comes in a single 47mm titanium case, offered in Titanium Gray and Titanium Silver, and keeps the signature orange action button from its predecessor.

New chipset

The Watch Ultra2 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite chip paired with 64GB of internal memory and 2GB RAM. Samsung says the new chip delivers 32% faster CPU performance and 19% faster GPU performance than the original Galaxy Watch Ultra’s Exynos W1000, translating into faster app launches and improved responsiveness.

Battery life and charging

Battery capacity grows to 800 mAh, rated for up to 80 hours with Always On Display switched off. The watch supports high-frequency fast wireless charging, a feature Samsung says is currently exclusive to the Ultra2 among its watches.

Design and brightness

On the design side, the titanium case shrinks to 10.7 mm thick, 12% thinner than the original Ultra’s 12.1 mm, while the silicone band drops to 1.9 mm and is 26% lighter and softer than before. The 1.5-inch sapphire crystal Super AMOLED display reaches up to 5,000 nits of brightness with an Always On mode.

Band options

Samsung is also offering a dedicated Ultra-band collection for the Watch Ultra2: the Marine Band, a lightweight, breathable premium elastomer (HNBR) strap for outdoor use; the PeakForm Band, with a PU-leather exterior (51% bio-based material) and elastomer interior for a look that spans elegant to sporty; and the Trail Band, a breathable fabric strap suited to running and other demanding outdoor activities. The bands are all priced at €79.99

New sports features

The Watch Ultra2 adds refined trail-running tools, including route tracking with turn-by-turn cues, elevation data, and a hydration alert that estimates body water loss (requires Android 13 or later and Samsung Health 7.0 or later). Diving support, developed with Mares, tracks depth, water temperature, and dive time in real time. The watch is rated to IP69K and 10 ATM and complies with EN 13319. Full dive computer functionality requires a separate Mares app; Samsung says the partnership will remain exclusive to the Ultra2 among Wear OS watches for two years.

New health features

Samsung also introduces Vitals, a new sleep-based early-warning system shared with the Watch9. It tracks heart rate, HRV, skin temperature, blood oxygen, and respiratory rate to flag deviations from a user’s personal baseline. It requires seven nights of data to calibrate and isn’t intended for medical diagnosis. A new Fitness Index feature, also shared across both watches, scores users based on body composition, cardio, strength, flexibility, and endurance, with a training focus mode offering weekly recommendations.

New OneUI interface and pricing

The new Galaxy Watch Ultra2 run on Wear OS 7 with the One UI 9 Watch interface, support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, and dual-band GPS, and LTE. It is compatible with smartphones running Android 13 and above. It comes in a single 47mm size with LTE support included as standard, priced at €749/699$, and is available for preorder starting today, July 22, in select markets, with general availability beginning August 7, 2026, with a €100 off pre-order deal.
