Shop leaks even higher prices for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Ultra), Galaxy Watch 9, and Ultra 2
Samsung will unveil numerous new products at a Galaxy Unpacked launch event on Wednesday, September 22. Leaks have already revealed the European prices for the new foldables and Galaxy Watches. Now, Roland Quandt has found an overview page on the Portuguese retailer PCDiga that lists the new products, including their prices.
The prices are even higher than expected. This is likely due in no small part to the value-added tax (VAT), which at 23 percent in Portugal is 4 percentage points higher than in Germany. However, this leak also makes it clear that price increases in some regions are likely to be even higher than expected. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 is listed either with 256 GB of storage for €1,349, or with 512 GB of storage for €1,549.
Perhaps the most exciting new foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold8, costs €2,069 in Portugal for the 256 GB model. The 512 GB version is listed at €2,269, and the top-of-the-line 1 TB model even costs €2,669. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 is said to feature a brand-new form factor with a 5.5-inch secondary display and a relatively wide 7.6-inch main display. However, compared to the top-of-the-line model, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is expected to lack a telephoto camera.
According to the online store, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra costs an additional €200 for each model, meaning €2,269, €2,469, or €2,869, depending on the storage capacity. For the extra cost, buyers get a larger foldable display with a barely visible crease and a telephoto camera. However, no significant differences are expected in terms of performance, battery life, or camera quality.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch9 costs €409.90 for the most affordable 40-millimeter version without a modem. In Portugal, Samsung lists the larger 44-millimeter model at €439.90, an additional €50 is charged for an LTE modem. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is listed exclusively as a 47-millimeter model with an LTE modem for €749.90.
