Poco X8 clears multiple certifications, signaling imminent launch

The Poco X8 has surfaced on Thailand's NBTC and Singapore's IMDA certification platforms, confirming its existence and model number, POCO-2607DPC18G. This follows the introduction of the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max, leaving the base model as the missing piece of the lineup. While the certifications stop short of revealing its full hardware specs, the IMDA database confirms support for NFC, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, suggesting the handset is nearing release, likely in Thailand and Malaysia first.

Leaks point to the Poco X8 being a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro, which has already launched in China. This would mean a 6.83-inch OLED screen with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness, paired with a large 9,000mAh battery and 67W charging. The chipset is expected to be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

The rumored camera setup consists of a 50 MP main sensor, a 2 MP depth camera and a front 8 MP camera. Additional features may include an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers and IP66/IP68/IP69 ratings. While Poco is yet to officially confirm the X8, a broader launch is widely expected by the end of Q3 2026
