New HyperOS 4 leaks showcase biggest visual redesign to date

Fresh leaks are giving us the clearest look yet at Xiaomi's HyperOS 4, which appears to be getting its biggest visual overhaul in the history of HyperOS. Screenshots of the homescreen, reportedly pulled from internal Xiaomi 18-series prototype devices running an early Android 17-based build of HyperOS 4, reveal a "Liquid Glass"-style design language with translucent interface elements, softer blur effects and a refreshed overall appearance. Other changes include redesigned 2.5D app icons, thicker status bar icons, a shorter gesture navigation bar, and subtle interface refinements intended to give the software a more modern look.

Moreover, newly leaked wallpapers showcase abstract layered graphics with translucent ribbons, smooth gradients and depth effects that complement the updated visual style. The wallpapers are paired with revised lock screen layouts featuring bold typography, reinforcing Xiaomi's shift toward a cleaner and more premium aesthetic.

Xiaomi is yet to make an official announcement confirming these features; although visual elements could well change before launch, both the UI and wallpaper leaks suggest that Xiaomi is preparing a substantial redesign rather than a routine visual refresh.
