Honor unveils Pad X9 Max: 13-inch 120Hz screen, huge battery and quad speakers

Honor is expanding its budget tablet lineup with the new Pad X9 Max, a large-screen device aimed at entertainment and everyday productivity. Launched in the UK, the tablet features a 13-inch LCD panel with 2500x1560 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 700 nits. Additional features include a paper-like reading mode, DC dimming and TÜV Rheinland certification for reduced blue light suggest, which should also appeal to readers and streamers.

Powering the Honor Pad X9 Max is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, expandable via microSD to 2TB. Software runs on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. The tablet houses a 10,100mAh battery with 45W fast charging, which the company claims can provide up to 16 hours of video playback or 13 hours of reading. Audio is provided via four IMAX Enhanced speakers, while the cameras and connectivity standards are somewhat outdated, consisting of 5MP front and rear cameras, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. Nevertheless, this should suffice for the tablet's intended audience.

Built from aluminum and weighing 618 grams, the tablet also supports an optional stylus and keyboard accessory for note-taking or lightweight work. Gray is the only color option available, with UK pricing set at £349.99 for the base configuration (4GB+128GB) and £449.99 (6GB+256GB) for the higher-spec version.
