Robot Phone: Honor officially confirms launch date

The Honor Robot Phone was previously showcased at several events, including CES 2026, MWC 2026, and the Cannes Film Festival. The phone was also seen in the hands of Spanish footballer Eric García during celebrations following the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

After opening reservations for the device in China earlier this month, the company has now announced that it will officially launch the phone on August 12, 2026.

The Honor Robot Phone features a three-axis gimbal camera mounted on a robotic arm. It supports several AI features, including AI Object Tracking, which Honor says allows users to double-tap a subject to keep it in the frame automatically. Notably, Honor has revealed that the phone’s imaging system was jointly developed with camera manufacturer Arri.

According to a previous leak, the Honor Robot Phone may feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the same flagship chipset that powers the Xiaomi 17 Ultra (16GB/512GB curr. $1,272 on Amazon). The leak points to a 6.3-inch to 6.4-inch display with a “1.5K” resolution, a 200MP gimbal-mounted main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. The phone is also tipped to pack an approximately 6,000mAh battery.
