DJI releases Osmo Pocket 4P vlogging camera globally with 1-inch and 3x cameras to rival Insta360 Luna Ultra
DJI has now released the Osmo Pocket 4P globally. The company's first Pro-branded vlogging camera, the Osmo Pocket 4P directly rivals the Insta360 Luna Ultra that arrived in early June (curr. $769 on Amazon). For reference, we have already put Insta360's first vlogging camera through its paces in a detailed review.
In short, the Osmo Pocket 4 and Osmo Pocket 4P contain a 1-inch style CMOS primary sensor that combines an f/2.0 aperture with a 20 mm equivalent focal length. This sensor can shoot at 33 MP in 16:9 (7,680 x 4,320) too, or at 38 MP (6,144 x 6,144) when a 16:9 aspect ratio is selected. Although DJI uses the same sensor across its Osmo Pocket 4 generation, only the Osmo Pocket 4P supports 17 levels of ultra-high dynamic range.
Moreover, the Osmo Pocket 4P adds a 3x telephoto lens. A 1/1.28-inch CMOS sensor, this 3x telephoto features an f/1.8 aperture and a 60 mm equivalent focal length. A 2-inch AMOLED viewfinder returns with 1,000 nits peak brightness too, which DJI complements with a 1,545 mAh battery (11.95 Wh/7.74 V). According to DJI, this battery should last up to 210 minutes between charges.
The Osmo Pocket 4P starts at $619/£529/€599 with its Standard Combo pack consisting of the camera itself, a Fill Light, Handle with 1/4-inch thread, Carrying Pouch and a few other key accessories. Alternatively, DJI sells the Vlog Combo for $669/£605/€599 with Mic Mini 2, Osmo FrameTap, Mini Tripod and Carrying Bag accessories.
Some markets have received the 140W GaN Charging Combo too for $691. While this adds a 140 W charger, it lacks many of the accessories included with the Vlog Combo. Orders should start shipping today or by the end of the week.
