New Insta360 X6 leaks confirm specs while revealing global launch date
It seems that the Insta360 X5 may be on the verge of being replaced (curr. $549 on Amazon). Earlier this month, WinFuture shared promotional images of a probable successor. Shortly afterwards, the same website returned with detailed specifications for the so-called Insta360 X6.
Now, Igor Bogdanov has weighed in with a first look at the camera's official retail packaging. Appearing to confirm previous leaks, the image outlines that Insta360 intends to market the X6 as delivering up to 140 minutes of battery life when recording 8K/30 FPS and 360-degree videos. Moreover, the Insta360 X6 boasts PureVideo Mode to maximise low-light performance and a refined replaceable lens solution sold as 'Replaceable Lenses 2.0'.
At the same time, a Redditor posting as u/FunnySushi1738 has been spotted posting a series of hands-on images with Insta360's next camera. Frequently reproduced without attribution, these images provide a clear look at the Insta360 against its predecessor and GoPro's older Max 360 camera. While slightly taller than the latter, the X6 adopts a shorter and wider form factor than the elongated Insta360 X5.
On top of that, the same Redditor reveals the back of X6's retail packaging. Embedded below, the image outlines the various accessories that Insta360 plans to bundle, including the camera's 2,600 mAh Extra Xtreme battery. Reportedly, Insta360 plans to officially introduce its X6 action camera on July 30. Based on previous rumours, the package pictured here could line up to €789 (~$897). By contrast, an accessory-less offering is expected to arrive for €589 (~$670) in the Eurozone.
