Realme GT 9 and Neo 9 series reportedly cancelled for 2026

Realme may not be launching a new GT or Neo series phone this year after all. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, Realme has already discontinued its current smartphone lineup in China, and existing stock should sell out by around November.

This lines up with what Realme itself confirmed just days earlier: the company is pausing new smartphone launches in China. Parent company OPPO has been pulling Realme and OnePlus closer together under one business and software structure, and this looks like part of that bigger reshuffle.

According to the leak, Realme has no plans to bring the GT 9 or Neo 9 series to China this year, and overseas markets are not expected to get new GT or Neo phones either. Instead, Realme's numbered series looks set to take over that spot in several regions.

The leak also hints at a smaller global lineup going forward. Outside China, Realme is said to be sticking to smartphones and audio gear for now, with no tablets or laptops in the pipeline, though a gaming tablet is apparently still on the table somewhere down the line.

Realme India earlier this month confirmed that future phones will ship with ColorOS 17 instead of Realme UI, a change the company says will make software development and updates easier. In addition, OPPO has combined OnePlus and Realme into one shared ecosystem, paving the way for more extensive software integration between the two brands in the future.

Owners of existing devices like the Realme GT 7 Pro need not worry – at least not yet. However, they will still receive the three Android OS upgrades and four years of security patches that Realme has promised, but through ColorOS rather than Realme UI.
