Redmi Note 17 series reportedly set to launch with four models in Vietnam

A leak posted by the Facebook page "The Pixel" claims that Xiaomi will bring the four-model Redmi Note 17 lineup to Vietnam. The alleged configurations are:
- Redmi Note 17 4G: 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, 6GB/256GB
- Redmi Note 17 5G: 6GB/128GB, 6GB/256GB, 8GB/256GB
- Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G: 6GB/128GB, 6GB/256GB, 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB
- Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G: 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, 8GB/512GB
Notably absent from the lineup is a Redmi Note 17 Pro 4G. The Redmi Note 15 lineup offered a dedicated 4G-only Pro variant, but Xiaomi appears to be skipping that option this time, reserving 4G configurations for the base Note 17.
Omission of 12/512GB SKU
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max pairs its 512GB storage option with 8GB of RAM rather than 12GB. That is likely a cost-saving decision: pairing 12GB of RAM with 512GB of storage would push the top-end SKU's price higher at a time when NAND flash and DRAM costs have been climbing across the industry. Capping the flagship storage tier at 8GB of RAM allows Xiaomi to maintain a manageable price gap between the 12GB/256GB and 8GB/512GB options rather than combining both upgrades in one expensive SKU. Still, this may be region-specific, since the phone is reportedly launching with a 12GB/512GB configuration in Taiwan, as we covered previously.
Launch timing
No official launch date has been confirmed yet, but the leaker described the leak as last-minute news, suggesting that an official announcement from Xiaomi Vietnam could be close at hand.
