New Vivo Y6a: 7,200 mAh battery, 120 Hz display, and Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 on a budget

With the Vivo Y6a, Vivo is expanding its entry-level portfolio with a focus on battery capacity and durability. The smartphone is offered in a single configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, and comes in three color variants: black, silver, and gold. While the latter two feature a subtle patterned back panel, their visual appeal remains understated—and in everyday use, the design will likely be concealed by a protective case anyway.
Vivo emphasizes the device’s robustness, claiming compliance with IP68 and IP69 certifications as well as a degree of drop resistance. Under the hood, the Vivo Y6a is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, an entry-level SoC with integrated 5G support. Dual-SIM functionality is included. One of the standout features is the large 7,200 mAh (28.23 Wh) battery, which supports wired charging at up to 44 watts. Wireless charging, however, is not available—an omission that aligns with the device’s price segment. The 6.75-inch LCD panel offers a resolution of 1,570 × 720 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The Vivo Y6a features a 50 MP main camera, with no ultra-wide or telephoto lenses. The front camera has an 8 MP resolution. The smartphone is currently available in China for around $294, and a global release has not yet been announced.
