Trump T1 Phone to be shipped soon, specs comparison shows major weakness

The Trump T1 Phone was supposed to be shipped last September, but the mid-range smartphone sold by US President Donald Trump's network carrier still wasn't delivered to customers. Recently, there have even been rumors that the device will simply be cancelled. Trump Mobile has now denied this and told USA Today that the first pre-ordered Trump T1 Phones will be shipped to customers later this week.

It should take "a few weeks" until all pre-orders have been delivered. It remains to be seen whether this information is true, as Trump Mobile did not initially state the launch date, design or features of the Trump T1 Phone correctly. What is certain is that the golden mid-range smartphone is not that competitive for $499. The device is clearly based on the HTC U24 Pro from 2024, although the official product page at still does not list all the specifications.

As a comparison with similarly priced mid-range smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy A57 and the Motorola Edge 2025 shows, the Trump T1 Phone offers average features at best - from a Snapdragon 7 series chip to a 5,000 mAh battery, which cannot be charged wirelessly, to the telephoto camera, which only offers 2x zoom. Probably the biggest weakness, however, is that the smartphone is still shipped with Android 15, although the launch of Android 17 is imminent. Trump Mobile does not guarantee Android updates or security patches.
