Xiaomi Poco X Pro series officially confirmed with latest MediaTek chipsets ahead of global debut

The Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro was released in January 2025 as a mid-range smartphone with the Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset. Poco has now officially revealed the chipsets powering its upcoming smartphones.
On the social media site X, Poco confirmed it will bring the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s and Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipsets to the global market. The company referred to the lineup as the "Poco X Pro series," stopping short of the widely rumored "Poco X8 Pro series" name. The series is expected to include the Poco X8 Pro and the Poco X8 Pro Max.
As per the leaks, the Poco X8 Pro Max will use the Dimensity 9500s, a high-end octa-core processor based on a 3nm process. For context, the Dimensity 9500s is positioned below the flagship Dimensity 9500 that powers phones like the Vivo X300 Pro. Meanwhile, the Poco X8 Pro will use the Dimensity 8500 Ultra, a 4nm chipset featuring eight Cortex-A725 cores and a Mali-G720 GPU.
Currently, there is no official release date for the new smartphones. However, a previous leak suggested a global launch for March 14. The Poco X8 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be global versions of the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max, respectively, which launched earlier in China.
