Redmi Turbo 5 Max gets refreshed with a higher storage variant

It has been barely a week since Xiaomi announced the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. Now, the manufacturer has released a new variant of the Dimensity 9500s-powered smartphone.
The Redmi Turbo 5 Max was originally announced in four configurations - a base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage, a 12GB RAM + 512GB variant, a 16GB RAM variant with 256GB of storage, and a variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Now, Xiaomi has added a fifth configuration.
The new variant of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max has 16GB of RAM like two of the previously announced ones, however, the storage has now been bumped up to 1TB. This variant costs CNY 3,399 (~$490/€415) and is already available to buy in China. According to ITHome, a Xiaomi executive disclosed that the 1TB version of the smartphone is available in limited quantities, as it is very expensive.
Save for the storage, the rest of the specs are the same as those of the other variants. The Redmi Turbo 5 Max has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 2772 × 1280 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and has a centered punch hole for a 20MP camera.
On the back of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max are a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide angle camera. Under the hood are LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, and a massive 9,000mAh battery capacity that supports 100W fast wired charging. The Redmi Turbo 5 Max also features an IP69K rating, an IR blaster, NFC, dual SIM support, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 6. Xiaomi ships it with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
Based on the promotional image above, it seems the 1TB version of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is limited to the Sunshine Orange and Cloud White color variants.
