Xiaomi Pad 8 now official globally with 144 Hz display and mid-range pricing

Xiaomi has finally released the Pad 8 tablet outside China. Launched alongside the more expensive Pad 8 Pro, the Pad 8 originally arrived in Xiaomi’s home market last September. While that is also true of the Xiaomi 17, the Pad 8 has not changed for its global release like Xiaomi’s compact flagship smartphone.
As such, the Pad 8 features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 globally with a 9,200 mAh battery. According to our benchmarks, this should give the Pad 8 around a 40% performance improvement over the older Pad 7 (curr. $354.99 on Amazon). Also, the new tablet contains an 11.2-inch IPS display with a 3.2K resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate and 800 nits peak brightness.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 starts at €449.90 (~$530) in the Eurozone with 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Alternatively, the device can be configured with twice as much storage but the same amount of RAM for €50 more.
Both memory configurations can be picked up at a €50 discount until March 14, though. Also, Xiaomi is offering Focus Pen Pro and detachable keyboard accessories, but not as free gifts like with the Pad 8 Pro. Please see the company’s website for more details.
