Honor has now revealed full global hardware specifications for the Magic V6, less than a year after releasing the Magic V5 (curr. $1,560 on Amazon). At the same time, the company has also confirmed availability both within China and in other markets. On top of that, Honor provided us with hands-on experiences in three of the device's four launch colours.
Specifically, we have had the chance to try out the Magic V6 in its red, gold and white finishes. Of these, the white finish is the thinnest at 4 mm when unfolded and 8.75 mm when folded. The white variant is also a touch lighter officially at 219 g versus 224 g for the device's gold and red versions. The same goes for the black variant that has eluded us so far.
Despite Honor's claims, the Magic V6 does not provide a crease-free viewing experience. Still, the hinge ensures that the phone folds flat while snapping into place. Honor's new foldable closes more confidently than previous generations, too.
Anecdotally, the new 6,600 mAh battery delivers impressive runtimes during our first few days with it. Also, this larger battery capacity is joined by 66 W wireless and 80 W wired charging. While the Magic V6 surpasses the Galaxy Z Fold7 on performance, it remains to be seen whether the Magic V6 will outlast the Find N5 and Find N6 in our battery tests. Please see the video above and the photos below for more Magic V6 hands-on footage.
