Oppo took a shot at Samsung during Find N6 launch

Oppo has unveiled its creaseless foldable, the Find N6. The phone boasts a visually invisible crease that is more durable and seamless than the competition. Specifically, Oppo used a Galaxy Z Fold 7 (buy on Amazon) during its launch event to show exactly how much better its folding screen tech is compared to the Korean tech giant.
During the event, Oppo showed a video of a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 in its retail box next to a Find N6 in its folded state (at the 40 minute mark). The Galaxy phone was then taken out of the fresh box, the protective sheet peeled, and then left folded for an hour. Upon unfolding, the phone showed a much more prominent seam compared to when it was unboxed an hour ago. Then, the folded Oppo Find N6 was unfolded and there was no visible crease.
Oppo is using a combination of an improved hinge mechanism and an Auto-Smoothing Flex Glass to achieve a visually invisible crease. It has also rated its phone for 600,000 folds meaning the screen will not show bends or a crease even after 600,000 folds. On the other hand, Samsung rates its Galaxy Z Fold 7 at 500,000 folds but that’s for the folding mechanism and not the screen itself, which shows noticeable creasing in just an hour.
Oppo has also used silicon carbon batteries in the Find N6 which takes the capacity to 6,000 mAh with support for 80W wired charging. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 lags way behind with its 4,400 mAh, while the now discontinued Galaxy Z TriFold comes with 5,600 mAh. Samsung may also be stepping up its game as it is expected to bring a silicon carbon battery backed phone this year, as well as increase the capacity in its Galaxy Z Fold 8.
