Asus TUF 2026 gaming laptop lineup goes OLED, adds Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus CPU option

Asus has made the 2026 TUF lineup official, and the main highlight of the new gaming laptops is the TUF F16 FX608LMG/ LPG. This specific model is available with up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, an Arrow Lake Refresh CPU that promises to deliver up to 8% better gaming performance than the 285HX.
There's another option of the Asus TUF F16, with the model FX608JPR, and this one maxes out at Core i7 14650HX. Both options can be configured with up to the Nvidia RTX 5070, but the former enjoys a major display upgrade. The FX608LMG/LPG offers a 16-inch OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 coverage.
It's worth noting that the same OLED option is available on the refreshed A16 (FA608UP/UM/UH), which is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 260. This Hawk Point gaming laptop can also be paired with up to the RTX 5070, and Asus notes that the TGP maxes out at 115W with Dynamic Boost.
There's another TUF A16 option with the AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX, a more capable CPU option, which can also be paired with the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. However, there's no OLED display option available for this one. Instead, the best display option is the 16-inch IPS panel with a 300Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3.
The beefier TUF A18 has also been refreshed, and the 2026 model can be equipped with up to the RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU. To look back, the top-end GPU option for the 2025 model was the non-Ti RTX 5070 (32 GB MSI Katana 15 HX with RTX 5070 curr. $1,599 on Amazon). There's no official word on availability or prices yet.
