Oppo has done the impossible with the new Find N6, whose hinge has been reworked to deliver a foldable phone without a display crease when opened. It builds on the work started with the Find N5, which was the thinnest foldable phone at launch.

Oppo snatched the world's thinnest foldable phone title with the Find N5 in 2025, squeezing a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a 5,600 mAh battery into a body just 4.2 mm thin when unfurled, a combination that left rivals scrambling.

Now the Find N6 is almost here and has been snapped next to the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold and its many creases in a Bloomberg preview ahead of Oppo's March 17 launch event. As can be seen, the typical foldable phone display "valley" in the hinge area can't be discerned on the N6, while the ones on Samsung's phone are quite visible.

Find N6 has 'imperceptible' crease

Oppo has posted the Find N6's TÜV Rheinland testing body seal, which certifies the foldable phone as having "imperceptible creases," and adds that the inner screen would remain just as flat even after 600,000 folds.

The 8.12-inch main OLED display has been treated to a self-healing memory glass cover for the purpose of staying flush after prolonged use. The true innovation, however, lies in the hinge mechanism. Oppo 3D-scans each and every hinge that has to go into assembling a Find N6 and distributes tiny polymer drops where the scan shows even a slightly uneven surface, then fuses them with UV rays.

The even hinge "pops" the display assembly above it in a more uniform way, removing the potential for a visible crease to appear. The solution smoothes out two-thirds of the difference in hinge surface height, says Oppo, resulting in TÜV Rheinland's "imperceptible crease" certification.

As for the other Oppo Find N6 specs expected to be confirmed at the official launch event on March 17, they should include a giant 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 that is now discounted on Amazon makes do with a 4,400 mAh cell and a slow 25W charging speed.

As it will be launching globally, the Find N6 will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, built on a 3 nm process. Another impressive feat could be the 200 MP Hasselblad-tuned main camera sensor, joined by two 50 MP zoom and ultrawide-angle companions. Oppo is also pairing the Find N6 with an AI Pen stylus, pitching it as an "Ultra Foldable" productivity tool rather than merely a conversation piece.

Oppo has put the Find N6 up for pre-order reservation in three colorways - Golden Orange, Deep Black, and Original Titanium - with RAM and storage memory variants ranging from 12/256 GB all the way up to a 16 GB/1 TB top-tier trim with satellite connectivity abilities. The Golden Orange is the signature shade, and it looks as bold as it sounds on Oppo's YouTube channel teasers.
