Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold
Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold pushes foldables further with a tri-fold design that expands from a phone into a near-10-inch tablet, backed by flagship silicon and cameras. Early reviews praise its versatility and multitasking, while questioning its thickness, high cost, and whether most users truly need such a large display.

Pros

+ 10-inch tablet-like display
+ Strong multitasking productivity
+ Flagship Snapdragon performance
+ 200MP main camera
+ IP48 water resistance

Cons

- Very expensive pricing
- Thick when folded
- Niche appeal overall
- More than most need
- Durability concerns remain

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is a tri-fold phone designed to function as both a pocketable handset and a small tablet, expanding from about 6.5 inches to nearly 10 inches. Reviews highlight the device’s novelty and versatility, especially for multitasking, media consumption, and work-style use cases. It runs Android 16 on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, positioning it as a top-tier performance device. The camera setup mirrors Samsung’s flagship approach, led by a 200MP main sensor alongside ultra-wide and 3x telephoto lenses. Downsides noted across hands-ons include its thickness when closed, a likely very high price, and the reality that many everyday phone tasks don’t require such a large display. Overall impressions suggest an impressive but highly specialized product aimed at enthusiasts and productivity-focused users willing to accept trade-offs.

83% Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Review: A Pocket-Sized Powerhouse, but It's Not for Everyone
Source: CNet English
After using the Galaxy Z TriFold for a couple of weeks, it became clear that this phone is for a very specific subset of people. And I'm not sure that includes me. I've enjoyed the novelty and versatility of the TriFold: It can easily double as a workstation or tablet for watching movies or multitasking. Still, it offers more than I'd realistically need from a phone. My usual tasks include scrolling through social media, texting and taking photos -- all things you don't need a 10-inch display for.

Galaxy Z Trifold Review: A Tablet You Can Fit Into Your Pocket
Source: Sam Mobile English
The Galaxy Z TriFold feels unapologetically futuristic, and after a few days it genuinely starts to feel like the future in your pocket (even if it’s a chunky one). The massive display transforms everything: multitasking, media, even casual scrolling just hits different. Performance is rock solid, and to be fair, battery life holds up better than expected. For a device this ambitious, that’s no small feat. That said, let’s not kid ourselves: this thing costs a small fortune, and you’re absolutely paying the early-adopter tax. But this doesn’t feel like a gimmick. It feels intentional. If you want safe and sensible, there are easier picks. If you want something that turns heads, bends the rules (literally), and actually backs up the hype with real-world usability, the TriFold earns its bragging rights.

90% Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold review: The price of convenience
Source: Hardware Zone English
Longtime followers of Samsung would recall the days when the company debuted its bi-folding phone. Most would remember that the commercial launch was delayed due to durability concerns and that compromises were made to ship a retail-ready unit, which took another seven generations to reach the refined Galaxy Z Fold7. We brought this up because it’s easy to underestimate the dumpster fires that come with product experimentation. In comparison, the Galaxy Z TriFold has a relatively impressive debut, polished enough to flex its value proposition. The company has made decent use of past lessons to help a niche format gain wider acceptance on its first try.

Pushing Samsung's Galaxy TriFold To The Limit
Source: MrMobile English
Well, on a device as ambitious as Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold – a smartphone that unfolds into a ten-inch tablet – that seems like an even bigger missed opportunity than usual. So when Google took me to Taiwan to tour some of its hardware labs and testing facilities, I decided to leave my MacBook in the hotel room for the whole week, and use the TriFold as my mobile workstation instead. And I didn’t stop at drafting documents in Samsung DeX. Instead (starting on the go and ending back home) I pushed the TriFold to its limits in order to find out how powerful it is, what accessories you need to expose its full potential – and honestly? Just to have a little fun.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Trifold is a wonder of engineering but will anyone buy one?
Source: Expert Reviews English
The big catch with all this, however, is that it is undeniably expensive – I can’t imagine many will be willing or able to splurge the thick end of three grand on any phone, regardless of how beautiful the engineering is – and that it won’t be available from any UK outlets, at least at first. And be aware – that price may well rise higher if and when it does appear on UK shores. Not because we’re special, but because the global RAM shortage crisis will have probably got considerably worse by that point, and prices on everything will be rising. But let me reiterate: the Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold is something rare and something special. It’s a wonderful piece of engineering – a product that reflects Samsung’s R&D and manufacturing expertise perfectly – and if I was a billionaire, I’d definitely buy one.

I was one of the few people to try Samsung’s new 10-inch Galaxy Z TriFold: Here’s what Brits are missing
Source: Business Standard English
Announced in early December 2025, the latest member of the Galaxy Z Fold family adds a second hinge and folding screen to the central panel, supersizing the internal screen space to a whopping 10 inches, besting the Fold7’s 8-inch wingspan. It’s impressively, teetering on obnoxiously, large; a smooth expanse of glossy, 120Hz refreshing screen real estate that’s akin to a traditional tablet rather than a handset. Gamers, streamers, and multitaskers: you won’t be able to believe your eyes.

80% Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold review: Triple view
Source: Canbuyornot English
Retailing at a whopping S$3,998 for the 512GB model, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is definitely expensive, but you're paying the early adopter pricing. The TriFold is a great device, but it's likely most of us won't even buying it this time around. But then again, Samsung is only selling it to interested customers, and may not even be selling it anymore. But you can still probably get it from a reseller on Shopee (at a much higher price).

A Laptop In Your Pocket? Galaxy Z TriFold Review
Source: MrMobile English
Ever since the first handhelds got smart, companies have tried leveraging that added power by adding keyboard peripherals. The folding phone flipped that script about five years ago, expanding the display instead of the input method … and the new tri-fold category pushes that even further, literally putting a 10-inch display in your pocket. So I thought: why not blend the accessories of yesterday with the phone of the future to see if a keyboard, mouse and tri-fold finally deliver on the dream of a "pocket laptop?” I’m MrMobile and I’ve spent a month with the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold!

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold vs Galaxy Z Fold 7: Main differences
Source: Phone Arena English
The Galaxy Z TriFold feels uncannily similar to the very first Galaxy Fold released back in 2019: a slightly crude device that's more of a proof of concept and a clear statement by Samsung that it is willing to populate this niche as well. It's a bit rough around the edges; the successor will hopefully improve the formula. Add the exorbitant price tag, and you get just that, a very niche device aimed at a tiny range of consumers. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the other hand, is a much more fleshed-out device that finally doesn't lag behind the competition. In fact, it's one of the nicer foldables you can get, especially so if great software is a priority.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold vs Huawei Mate XT: Main differences
Source: Phone Arena English
Samsung is a bit late to the foldable party, and it doesn't come dressed in its best clothes yet––the Galaxy Z TriFold is a very impressive foldable phone, but it's a bit crude and rough around the edges. The Huawei Mate XT was the first tri-foldable phone, and in many ways, it's a better device than the TriFold. In many others, it's not. Samsung's appetite will come with eating, and we have no doubt that the next Samsung triple-folding phone will be even better than this one. Which one should you get? At the moment, either one of these feels like a proof of concept rather than a device you should absolutely get. A regular book-style foldable is a more mature product, and still, a regular phone + a tablet still makes a lot of financial sense.
