Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 with significantly more efficient displays: Leaker names key features and highlights

Foldable fans will soon have the chance to get their hands on the world's thinnest foldable smartphone, which is set to be launched globally as the Oppo Find N5 (instead of the OnePlus Open 2). The device, equipped with guaranteed wrinkle-free displays and Hasselblad cameras, is expected to make things harder for Samsung and its upcoming Galaxy foldables in the summer if the South Koreans don't come up with anything new.
Radical changes are unlikely to be on the menu, especially since Samsung's first tri-foldable is set to be released in the fall. But a few major innovations compared to the Galaxy Z Fold6 und Galaxy Z Flip6 can be expected, as a leaker recently stressed. Accordingly, the displays of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 are reportedly much more efficient and thus conducive to longer battery life: the runtime in a test device with a Snapdragon 8 Elite is said to have increased by 55 minutes.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 with 200 MP camera
In further posts on X, the leaker confirms even more details about Samsung's upcoming pocket tablet. For example, the digitizer layer that makes the display S Pen-compatible has been omitted, but according to earlier leaks, an alternative is being developed. The leaker further states that the current prototype also features a 200 MP camera like the one in the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. In terms of design, however, little seems to have changed, with the slightly thinner foldable retaining the flat frame and camera rings of the current model.
Galaxy Z Flip7 with less crease than Galaxy Z Fold7
Although both Samsung foldables are said to have been improved somewhat in terms of the visible crease in the middle of the display, this is less noticeable on the Galaxy Z Flip7, as the leaker emphasizes (see below).
If all this information is correct, the Galaxy Z Flip7 will also benefit from a new hinge with greater durability, an upgraded Armor aluminum frame, an ultra-thin glass layer, a larger vapor chamber and a thinner casing. A new version of the ProVisual Engine suite from the Galaxy S25 Ultra will also be installed. Although the 25 watt fast-charging feature remains unchanged on paper, the new flip phone will still charge a little faster, according to the leaker.
