Samsung's first double-folding tablet will not herald the launch of a new Galaxy family, as has been rumored for some time. The rumors of a Galaxy G Fold are therefore unfounded. Instead, the competitor to the Huawei Mate XTs will be called the "Galaxy Z TriFold" according to recent information from China, and is expected to launch on December 5, 2025.
This new information about the name comes from a prominent leaker in the US. Evan Blass also reveals some other details in a recent X post, such as the chipset, which will apparently be from Qualcomm. While it remains uncertain which Snapdragon chip it will use, it will likely be the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is at least a plausible assumption. Samsung is using a 200 MP sensor for the main camera.
The battery, which a Chinese website yesterday estimated at 5,600 mAh, differs slightly from Evan Blass's figures, who refers to a "rated capacity" of 5,437 mAh, i.e., the net capacity rather than the capacity stated in the data sheet. According to Blass, the 6.5-inch cover display will able to generate 2,600 nits of peak brightness, while the flexible 10-inch AMOLED will have a maximum of 1,600 nits. Last but not least, the thickness of the case is said to vary slightly depending on the measurement position and is reportedly 3.9 mm at its thinnest point and 4.2 mm at its thickest point.
