The Chosun Daily claims to have received exclusive information about the Galaxy Z TriFold and how it differs from the Galaxy Z Fold7 that Samsung released earlier this year (curr. $1,699 on Amazon). For context, the website's report arrives in the wake of Samsung certifying its first tri-foldable for sale in Singapore with dual-SIM connectivity.
Reiterating another recent rumour, The Chosun Daily believes that Samsung only plans to sell between 20,000 and 30,000 units. Not only that, but the Galaxy Z TriFold may be 'limited to Korea and select Asian countries'. Nonetheless, the website adds that Samsung will price the Galaxy Z TriFold at around $3,000, with Galaxy Z TriFold apparently being the device's final name too.
For that price, Samsung is said to have included a 5,600 mAh battery for a 27% improvement over the Galaxy Z Fold7. Moreover, The Chosun Daily asserts that the Galaxy Z TriFold will match its Galaxy Z Fold counterpart with a 6.5-inch cover display though, with its left and right sides folding out in order to reveal a 10-inch canvas within.
Reportedly, all this hardware will contribute to a 14 mm thickness in the device's folded state. In other words, the Galaxy Z Tri Fold could be around 9% thicker than the Mate XTs and almost 60% chunkier than the Galaxy Z Fold7. Currently, The Chosun Daily insists that Samsung will release the Galaxy Z TriFold on December 5.
