The Galaxy S26 specs are becoming clearer by the day, thanks to almost daily new leaks. After confirming the new 3X Telephoto camera, Ice Universe has now revealed that the Galaxy S26 phones will feature the fastest LPDDR5X memory on the planet.

Another day, another Galaxy S26 leak. This time around, leaker Ice Universe has revealed the LPDDR5X RAM that Samsung is expected to pack in the Galaxy S26 series. According to the leaker, the Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra will start with 12 GB of LPDDR5X memory running at 10.7 Gbps. This is the fastest LPDDR5X memory spec currently on the market.

Compared to the Galaxy S25 series, the leaked Galaxy S26 RAM speed is 26% faster, as the Galaxy S25 Ultra tops out at 8.5 Gbps. So, the Galaxy S26 is reportedly going to enjoy a healthy memory bandwidth boost, which will help with memory-intensive tasks like on-device AI and photo processing.

So, what kind of improvements can the Galaxy S26’s faster memory bring to the table? Ice Universe has made a nifty table to explain the possible image processing, AI, and energy consumption upgrades afforded by the faster 10.7 Gbps RAM of the Galaxy S26. Some of the most notable ones could include:

  • Faster processing of night mode shots
  • Less noise and better sharpness in low-light pictures
  • Improved video stability and efficiency during 8K/120 FPS recording
  • Better real-time image preview in the camera app
  • Better dynamic range in Pro video
  • Reduced power consumption and heat output

So, even if there are only a few camera hardware improvements in the Galaxy S26, we might indeed end up with some nice image quality enhancements, especially in low-light photography.

However, it helps to keep expectations low, as all the leaks have pointed to a camera system that is, more or less, similar to what we’ve been getting for a few years. It is rather disappointing when we look at Chinese OEMs who are constantly pushing boundaries of mobile photography. Even Apple, a company that is often reluctant to make massive changes, has given the iPhone 17 Pro phones some stellar new shooters.

We’ll know for sure what Samsung has in store for us soon, as the Unpacked event, where the Galaxy S26 series will be shown, is only a few months out.
