The existence of the Galaxy S26 Edge is still a mystery, but a new leak has shown how incredibly thin the phone would be. Samsung’s plans for its next slim and light flagship are still unclear and speculation suggests that the Korean giant has put it on the back burner. That doesn’t mean it has been cancelled, despite some reports claiming so, and if it does launch, it would be even slimmer than the Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone Air.
Known leaker has shared real-life images of what is meant to be a dummy unit of the Galaxy S26 Edge (featured and linked below). They show the phone coming in at just 5.50 mm, measured using a digital vernier calliper. It can also be seen against the iPhone 16 Pro which measures 8.25 mm, and the Galaxy S26 Edge dummy looks significantly sleeker.
At 5.5 mm, it would be slimmer than the Galaxy S25 Edge (5.8 mm) and even the iPhone Air (5.64 mm). This would make it the slimmest Android phone ever. That being said, there is a possibility that the Galaxy S26 Edge never comes out. Early last month, it was reported that the Galaxy S26 Edge has been cancelled due to unsatisfactory sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. Then, towards the end of the month, a new report claimed that the phone is still in the works, and has been internally codenamed “More Slim.”
Another report claimed that while it’s still in the pipeline, it won’t release alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year. The next Galaxy S flagships are themselves expected to arrive later than usual, possible heading into February.
