In recent weeks, there have been suggestions that Xiaomi may not be introducing the Redmi Note 15 series internationally until early 2026. As we discussed at the time, these reports indicated that Xiaomi may not have a global successor to the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus (curr. $354 on Amazon) ready in time to join the Redmi Note 15 5G or Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G either.
However, new rumours have now come to light that cast doubt on these prior reports. Specifically, the typically well-informed Abhishek Yadav claims to have received information signalling an earlier international launch is on the cards. Writing on X, Yadav asserts that the series is set to launch in India next month, albeit without providing a specific date yet.
Instead, the same source insists that the first Redmi Note 15 series sales will begin on January 9, 2026, somewhat aligning with previous rumours. In the meantime, Xiaomi is said to be preparing the Redmi 15C for the Indian market with an INR 11,500 (~$130) starting price. Although Yadav has not suggested when the Redmi Note 15 series will receive a global release, we can glean a few details from Xiaomi's past performance.
Typically, Xiaomi waits a few months between Indian and global launches of new Redmi Note smartphones. Thus, we suspect that the Redmi Note 15 5G, Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G will not be available globally until February at the latest. Potentially, these three smartphones will be joined by the Redmi Note 15 4G and Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G during a simultaneous launch, though.
