The launch of Samsung's first tri-foldable smartphone appears to be drawing closer. In the last few days, the so-called Galaxy Z TriFold was spotted at a Singaporean regulatory body with dual SIM connectivity. Shortly afterwards, various specifications emerged via South Korean media, which were quickly followed up and reiterated by Evan Blass.
However, the extent of Samsung's release strategy remains up in the air. Recently, there have been suggestions that the Galaxy Z TriFold will only reach a few Southeast Asian countries, plus China and South Korea. Nonetheless, Samsung appears to be testing firmware relating to a forthcoming US model.
As the image below shows, evidence has now surfaced showing SM-F968U1 test firmware being posted on Samsung's servers. According to SamMobile, this model number specifically relates to the unlocked US version of the Galaxy Z TriFold. As a result, we would not rule out Samsung's first tri-foldable being available in as many markets as the Galaxy Z Fold7 (curr. $1,599 on Amazon) but in more limited quantities. Currently, Samsung is expected to deliver the Galaxy Z TriFold on December 5 in one form or another.
