Oppo kicks off global ColorOS 16 rollout based on Android 16 for the first batch of devices
Oppo’s much-awaited ColorOS 16 update, based on Android 16, is finally here for the first batch of global models. It includes the company’s premium foldables, such as the Find N5 and Find N3 Flip, as well as the Oppo Find X8 series and the Oppo Pad 3 Pro tablet.
The stable rollout for the Oppo Find N5, Find X8 Pro, and Find X8 is already underway, with the update rolling out gradually to the said global variants—their Chinese counterparts already received their stable update in October. Several Find X8 owners have confirmed receiving the update, while some are still waiting for the OTA.
From November 11 onwards, Oppo will begin rolling out the ColorOS 16 update to three more devices: Oppo Find N3, Find N3 Flip, and Oppo Pad 3 Pro. If you own any of these devices, keep an eye out for an OTA notification in the coming days. You can also check for it manually by heading to Settings > System & Update > Software Update.
Other Oppo devices confirmed to receive ColorOS 16 in November
More devices are set to join the ColorOS 16 party later this month. According to Oppo’s official global update roadmap, the Reno 14 Pro 5G, Reno 14 Pro 5G Diwali Edition, Reno 14 F 5G, Reno 13 Pro 5G, Reno 13 5G, Reno 13 F 5G, and Oppo Pad 3 Pro are confirmed to get the Android 16-based update before November end; the company says it will share more details when it kicks off the rollout.
ColorOS 16 is a huge update and brings several improvements to the table. Most notably, the new release brings a fresh visual overhaul and a focus on fluidity, with Oppo describing its new look as “inspired by the interplay of light and shadow” in nature. Furthermore, the update introduces Seamless Animation for smoother transitions when opening apps, switching tasks, or navigating widgets, making everyday interactions feel more responsive.
Personalization also gets a big boost, with users now being able to set motion photos or videos as wallpapers, tweak fonts, or even let AI generate styles that complement their backgrounds. In addition, the Always-On Display now shows your full wallpaper, much like the iPhone’s implementation, while the new Flux Home Screen lets you resize icons and folders for a more dynamic, customizable layout.
