OnePlus has now opened pre-orders for the OnePlus 15 globally. Not only is the company's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered flagship more expensive than expected in many countries, but US sales have been postponed until OnePlus secures 'appropriate certifications' owing to current government shutdown.

OnePlus has finally confirmed global launch pricing for its latest flagship after debuting the OnePlus 15 last month in China. To recap, there were suggestions that the OnePlus 15 may receive the same price drop from last year's OnePlus 13 globally that it received in China.

While these rumours were accurate to some degree, they were wide of the mark for some countries. For instance, OnePlus has priced its latest flagship at $899.99 with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage with no talk of a free memory upgrade to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage like with the OnePlus 13 (curr. $849 on Amazon). As a result, this SKU will start at $999.99 before factoring in launch gifts, trade-in deals or student discounts.

Meanwhile, OnePlus has confirmed INR 72,999 and CA$1,299.99 starting prices across India and Canada, respectively. In other words, the OnePlus 15 will be more expensive than its predecessors across these markets. Conversely, the Eurozone and the UK will be receiving the OnePlus 15 for €949/£849, a €50/£50 price drop on the OnePlus 13. Full OnePlus 15 pricing that OnePlus has revealed today is as follows:

  • 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage - £849/$899.99/€949/CA$1,299.99/INR 72,999
  • 16 GB RAM/512 GB storage - £879/$999.99/€999/CA$1,399.99/INR 79,999

It is worth noting that OnePlus will increase the cost of the handset's 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage SKU to £979 in the UK and €1,099 in the Eurozone after December 12. Pre-orders for the OnePlus 15 open today in Canada, India, the Eurozone and the UK. However, open sales will not begin in Canada until November 18. OnePlus has been unable to confirm pre-order or open sales dates for the US yet, though. The company's full statement regarding the device's delayed US launch is as follows:

As is the case with every smartphone manufacturer, the United States' Federal Communications Commission certifies OnePlus devices before they are sold in the U.S. Given the current government shutdown, U.S. sales for the OnePlus 15 will be postponed until appropriate certifications are secured. The OnePlus 15 has already finished all the required tests from the FCC's recognized labs and the certification application has been formally submitted.

People who are interested in purchasing the OnePlus 15 in the U.S. should visit OnePlus.com/us, enter their contact information, and they will be notified when the device is on sale. The OnePlus 15 will officially be available for pre-order in Canada starting November 13, as scheduled, at OnePlus.com/ca_en
