Vivo recently refreshed its high-end lineup with the X300 series, but the company is already focused on the next generation. According to new reports, Vivo plans to skip the X400 series (perhaps avoiding the unlucky number "4" superstition in China) and jump straight to the Vivo X500. More importantly, the new Vivo X500 series is set to feature a massive upgrade in battery life.
Trusted tipster Digital Chat Station has confirmed that the upcoming Vivo X500 series will boast batteries of at least 7,000mAh. This represents a significant jump from the current flagship lineup. For example, the X300 Pro offers 6,510mAh in its Chinese variant. While the battery capacities of Vivo's current phones saw a reduction in the European market (unlike what happened with the OnePlus 15 and the OPPO Find X9 series), let’s hope that the X500 series brings this newly reported endurance to users worldwide.
It's worth noting that a Vivo X300 Ultra model is still awaiting release. Well, the tipster confirmed that this model won't reach the 7,000mAh battery level. However, considering the capacities of the base and "Pro" models, you can probably expect at least a 6,000mAh cell.
Bigger battery plans for mid-range
Vivo is not stopping at its premium devices. The same report reveals the company is actively testing battery "trial molds" for future mid-range phones that push capacity even higher—into the 8,000mAh to 9,000mAh range. This massive density in single-cell battery units comes from leveraging advanced silicon-carbon technology.
From the flagship X500 series to its more budget-friendly phones, Vivo seems to be prioritizing longevity. The push past the 7,000mAh benchmark for premium phones and the potential for near-tablet capacity in the mid-range promise to definitively put an end to classic battery anxiety.
