The Zeiss Vivo X300 Pro, Zeiss's flagship camera, is now officially available in Europe. In the Austrian online store, which ships directly to Germany, Austria, and Hungary, the Vivo X300 Pro costs 1,399€, with numerous discounts and gifts available. A 100€ discount can be automatically applied using the code 4X3MH3. A 90-watt flash charger and the camera kit body are included free of charge, and a 50% discount is offered when ordering the telephoto extender kit. This effectively brings the price down to 1,300€, or 1,500€ with the teleconverter. Amazon, on the other hand, doesn't offer any gifts but does offer a 150€ discount, effectively reducing the price of the Vivo X300 Pro to 1,250€.
For those not specifically looking for the Chinese Vivo X300 Pro model, which is available from retailers such as Tradingshenzhen starting at 807€ (or 947€ for the same storage configuration as in Europe, 16/512 GB), there is another option. While not quite as cheap, the global model from regions such as Hong Kong might be an acceptable compromise, given its significantly larger battery. It boasts all the same features as the European model, including Wear OS compatibility, eSIM, global OriginOS 6 with Google Gemini and Quick Share, and a 6,510 mAh battery, compared to 5,440 mAh in the EU model. The compact Vivo X300, by the way, has a 6,040 mAh battery, compared to 5,360 mAh in the European model. Last but not least, this option allows you to get the light blue Vivo X300 Pro color.
Importing the global Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro
Tradingshenzhen only sells the Chinese models, while the two Hong Kong-based shops, Wondamobile and Trinity Electronics, give you the choice between the Chinese model and the global variant. The UAE-based AverageDad shop also offers the latter. All three ship internationally, and at AverageDad, taxes are clearly included in the price. The global Vivo X300 Pro with 16/512 GB costs 1,157€ at AverageDad, bringing the total to 1,192€ with 35€ shipping. This isn't much cheaper than the EU model with discounts and gifts, but you do get the larger battery. Wondamobile charges 1.125€, which comes to 1,168€ with shipping on top. Paying in advance via SEPA bank transfer saves you 4.5%. Last but not least, we should also mention Trinitry Electronics in Hong Kong, who offer the global Vivo X300 Pro for 1,105€, with an additional 55€ for shipping, bringing the total to 1,160€. However, you can also deduct 3% if you register.
What to consider when importing
Unlike buying in Europe, importing the global model from countries such as Hong Kong comes with a limited 1-year warranty and, of course, limited or no return rights. Repairs may also be more difficult in a worst-case scenario. While both the software and hardware should be identical except for the larger battery, you may encounter problems with local transport regulations if you want to send the global model with the larger battery back to Vivo or exchange it for a future smartphone. The Oppo Find X9 Pro, the OnePlus 15 or the Nubia Z80 Ultra circumvent this issue with a dual-cell battery.
