OnePlus is preparing to replace the OnePlus 13 with the OnePlus 15 globally, having released the latter in China at the end of October. For context, the company will begin offering its latest flagship outside its home market on November 13. In the meantime, one can already sign up for various OnePlus 15-related launch offers, full details of which we have covered separately.
The end is not in sight for the OnePlus 13 yet, though. Instead, the handset has now received official LineageOS support with the arrival of LineageOS 23 builds. Incidentally, the addition of the OnePlus 13 to the LineageOS programme has occurred after the OnePlus 12 became eligible to receive custom Android 16 updates. By contrast, while the OnePlus 12R can also be flashed with LineageOS builds, it is unclear when or if the newer OnePlus 13R will receive the same treatment (curr. $554 on Amazon).
Currently the OnePlus 13 runs the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15, with OxygenOS 16 still in beta testing at the time of publication. In comparison, LineageOS 23 contains Android 16 with various changes from LineageOS 22, like predictive back navigation, a refined Aperture camera app experience and LineageOS' new Twelve music player. Unfortunately, Google has not released Android 16 QPR1 to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). As a result, LineageOS has been unable to upgrade its custom ROM to the latest version of Android yet. Please see LineageOS' wiki for installing LineageOS 23 on the OnePlus 13.
