Oppo A6 launches as 5G smartphone with 7,000 mAh battery and IP certifications
Oppo is now offering a new smartphone, the A6 5G, at least in China. A reasonably well-equipped device, the Oppo A6 is likely aimed at price-conscious customers who don't expect or need high-end features. In China, the model is available for the equivalent of around $226. Information on pricing or availability in other regions is not yet available.
Smartphone with 5G SoC and dual SIM
The Oppo A6 5G comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300. This SoC is equipped with a 5G modem and supports dual SIM functionality, allowing users to remain reachable on two phone numbers. Depending on the model, it features either 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and the UFS 2.2 storage is either 256 or 512 GB, depending on the model.
Large battery with fast charging and AMOLED display
Weighing approximately 185 grams and measuring 8 millimeters thick, the smartphone comes with a battery boasting an above-average capacity of 7,000 mAh, which can be charged at up to 80 watts, but only via cable. The screen has a resolution of 2,372 x 1,080 and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The AMOLED display is advertised with a peak brightness of 1,400 cd/m².
Limitations in the camera setup
Users will have to do without a telephoto camera entirely. Instead, a 50 MP main camera is available, complemented by a 16 MP front camera. Unlocking the device is possible via fingerprint, although a photo of your face can also be used for this purpose.
