Sub-flagship phones with non-Elite Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 tipped for imminent debut

A handful of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship phones have been released in China, and many of them are set to be available globally soon. However, alongside this new SoC, Qualcomm introduced a non-Elite version, and a smartphone featuring it has yet to make an official debut.

Well, it seems that will change soon, as Digital Chat Station, a credible Weibo leaker, shares that the two phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will launch later in November 2025. Among the two, one is reported to be a performance-focused phone with a battery that has a higher capacity than 8,000 mAh. It will also reportedly sport a 165 Hz display.

While Digital Chat Station didn't explicitly share the name of the phone, the information matches what previous reports shared about the rumored OnePlus Turbo. This sub-flagship is also expected to sport a 6.7-inch OLED screen with "1.5K" resolution, a dual-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP primary sensor, and support for 100 W fast charging (200 W Anker Prime Desktop Charger curr. $49.99 on Amazon).

Digital Chat Station has shared some information about the second Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 phone that's set for an imminent debut. It's said to be a small-screen camera phone with a capable periscope sensor on the back and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

Again, the Weibo tipster didn't share the name of the phone, but it's likely the Vivo S50 Pro mini. Per recent reports, it will be a small-sized phone with a capable camera setup on the back. It's also expected to sport a 6,040 mAh battery and a 6.31-inch display with "1.5K" resolution.
