The Motorola Edge 70 Ultra appears to have made its Geekbench debut. The phone sports 16 GB of RAM and performs somewhere between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite, but it's unclear what chipset exactly underpins it.

As recently reported, Motorola is readying the Edge 70 Ultra for launch. The company released the Edge 70 last week and now looks set to present its more premium offerings in the lineup, with the aforementioned Edge 70 Ultra seemingly making its Geekbench debut.

The Geekbench listing shows the phone with the model number "Motorola XT2603-1", and also with 16 GB of RAM onboard. Performance-wise, the phone earns a single-core score of 2,636 and a multi-core of 7,475. Those numbers represent computing performance slightly better than the most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones managed in our tests.

It's unclear what chipset exactly is on display here, as its performance exceeds the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3's but pales in comparison to the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Word on the grapevine indicates it could be the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 but the listed clock speeds and GPU—it's listed with an Adreno 829—are inconsistent with leaked details of that chipset. While those leaks may be inaccurate, there's also a chance this SoC is an entirely different entry in the Snapdragon 8 series. Perhaps something akin to a Snapdragon 8s Gen 5? We'll keep you updated either way.
