Oppo is days away from presenting the Find N5. OnePlus has now confirmed that it will not be offering an equivalent successor to the OnePlus Open (curr. $1,199.99 - refurbished on Amazon), either. While the Find N5 should be available globally in some capacity, the state of the Find X8 Ultra is less clear.
The return of Oppo to Europe and beyond suggests that the company may seek to challenge Samsung and Xiaomi with a new 'Ultra' flagship outside China. Based on new leaks, the Find X8 Ultra could carry over the twin periscope camera approach from its predecessor. Likewise, Oppo is expected to position the device's LED flash array outside its camera housing, presumably to maximise space for camera hardware.
Hasselblad branding may well move to the housing's centre this time around, given the lack of space on its top, bottom, right or left edges. Based on prior rumours, the Find X8 Ultra will utilise the Sony LYT-900 as its primary camera, which provides a 1-inch type optical format and a 50 MP native output. Allegedly, this camera will be joined by a trio of other 50 MP sensors too, including 75 mm and 150 mm telephoto lenses. A release date for Oppo's next 'Ultra' smartphone remains unknown for now, though.
